After much anticipation, I decided to give the Avec wax resist watercolour set a try, lured in by the promise of blending colors to reveal stunning designs. Unfortunately, the reality fell short of the expectations.
Firstly, the color blending was underwhelming. The hues, rather than merging into a harmonious palette, remained stark and disjointed. The result was far from the advertised seamless blend, leaving the artwork looking unattractive and patchy.
The inclusion of a white stick, meant to be a magical tool that reveals designs, turned out to be a gimmick. Despite multiple attempts, it failed to produce any discernible patterns, rendering the wax resist technique ineffective.
Moreover, the water brush, a crucial component for any watercolor set, was defective. The mechanism was jammed, making it impossible to open and fill with water, which is essential for the watercolor painting process.
In conclusion, the Avec wax resist watercolour set was a letdown. It did not live up to its marketing claims, and the overall experience was frustrating. I cannot recommend this product for the techniques it advertises. Perhaps it might serve better when used in more traditional watercolor methods, but as for its unique selling points, it's a no-go.
