This new class, Capturing Charm and Character, is your gateway to bringing those scenes to life with emotion and personality. Dive into the techniques of loose urban sketches starting with shadow use and perspective to add depth. Progress to incorporating vibrant colors through unique linework with ink and flowing watercolors, creating magical urban scenes.

This class is ideal if you're looking to step outside of perfection, embrace a playful approach to art, and maybe even create a delightful mess! Designed for both beginners and intermediate artists, you'll learn through a simple, step-by-step process that emphasizes freedom and creativity.

What You’ll Learn in Class…

BASIC PERSPECTIVE

Master the fundamental principles of perspective in this essential warmup lesson. Discover how to create depth and dimension in your sketches, bringing your scenes to vivid life with accurate spatial rendering.

THE MAGIC OF COLOUR

In our main lesson we will use what we learnt in our warm-ups and add glorious colour to our urban scene. We’ll use wonky messy linework with ink, and then loose flowing watercolours. It all combines to create a special kind of magic.

SUPPLY LIST

This is a list of what we’ll be using in the class. They always suggest watching the video first and then deciding if the art supply is something that would work for you. We encourage you to work with what you already have. Unless you feel like a shopping spree, of course. We understand.
